Valentine's Day or as I like to call it Very Alone Day

Don't be a wallflower in the dance of life...Well at least for single people like me.

It's quite lonely. Well, at least it used to be. Last year, I looked at love differently. I wanted love and saw love only in the romantic sense. I wanted to be needed, appreciated, cared about, admired for all that I am♥

Now, I'm not saying I don't want all that still but I don't need it.

I've realized that God takes care of those needs each and every day but not always through a romantic perspective.

This week, for example, God granted me the greatest gift of all: He kept me reminding me how beautiful I am as a person, inside and out.

He's been telling me to share more of my inner beauty with the world so I did. I started going up to people that I don't always talk to and asking them how they are and surprisingly it was just what they needed. Sometimes people just need to know that someone out there, even a stranger, cares that they exist and about their life, their hopes, their dreams, what matters to them. We're humans. We are selfish by nature.

Yet, the way that God turns that around is he lets you see someone else through his eyes and it's an amazing experience. You realize that instead of focusing on the one thing going wrong in your life, someone who you happen to see every single day and only occasionally say hi to has ten things going wrong in their life and all they really need is someone to smile at them. Ask them how they are. Maybe even give them encouraging words. Sometimes thats all a person needs to realize their worth.

Their worth through the eyes of God.♥

Anyway, so I did this for two weeks now and this week people kept telling me I'm beautiful. Guys and Girls.

I know in my spirit that those people were God's messengers to remind me of my worth.

How does this relate to Valentine's Day? It totally relates to Valentine's Day. Now, get ready for me to blow your mind.

Valentine's Day is a commercial holiday celebrating the world's view of love.

This is what I've learned about love in my short twenty years:

Love is never, I mean never, meant to be held inside.

It is meant to be shared.

Seeds of love are meant to be planted and watered and cared for through small acts of kindness and the rest of love is in the hands of Love himself(God).

The highest form of love has nothing to do with romance but has everything to do with friendship.

Love doesn't mean me first but actually means putting someone else before yourself, in the process watching yourself grow.

Love means letting someone go even if it breaks you.

Love means although two people may be perfect for each other; sometimes the best way to love them is by not being together.

Love means memories that don't fade, secrets shared through unspoken words, and smiles that create a spark of warmth that radiates through the heart and resonates the soul.

Love means unconditional acceptance.

Love doesn't always mean trust but to trust someone is the first way of saying you love them.

Love means wanting the best for someone even if that isn't you.

Love never fails.

I heard that. Someone was just reading this and thought to themselves, "I wonder if Chelsea has a Valentine this year."

I can happily and joyously tell you the good news: I do♥

You want to know who the lucky guy is?

Let me reveal it to you through a picture:

Yeah, his name is Jesus. See, I don't know if you heard about our love story...I mean, it's not as famous as that of the big names like Noah and Allie or Peter Pan and Wendy but he came to Earth 2000 years ago, which as you can probably figure out was before I even was a twinkle in my mother's eye let alone my grandmother's eye so anywho, he came to Earth with one purpose: To die for me.

Now, he wasn't even guilty of anything but he took every person that will ever exists pain, guilt, shame, fear, sickness, disease, debt, lack, poverty, any curse this world tries to make you claim as yours and he took it and carried it upon his shoulders and died, went to Hell to give it all back to Satan(and to rub it in Satan's face that he just defeated him and all his worthless power) and then he rose again. He rose just to tell his disciples just to go about the Earth and tell his story: the story of how much he loved each one of us.

You can tell someone really loves you when they would die to free you of all your burdens.

What brings me to tears about my Valentine? He didn't even know me. Yet, when he was upon that cross, my face came to his mind, and he saw me for all that I am and said I love you, I want you. I need you.♥

That's why he's my Valentine.

He can be yours too.

He's pretty open-minded when it comes to loving people so if you think there's no chance a guy or girl like you couldn't ever be loved by someone like him. You're wrong.

He already loves you now even as you read this blog written by me.♥

Isn't God amazing?!

Did I blow your mind?

If not, here's something that might speak to you if the above information did not.

In the beginning of December, I wrote a blog on love called On The Issue of Love: In Poetry and In Thought. If you haven't had a chance to read it, it would give you a glimpse into a personal anecdote on my love life: past and present.

Anyway, I wrote a poem for that blog and because this blog is also about love, here it is.

On the Issue of Love

Does he like me?
Maybe yes
Maybe no

Flower petals
fall from a
stem
as each of us
declare:

He loves me
He loves me not
He loves me.

To leave my
love life's destiny
in the hands of
fortune cookies,
horoscopes,
or numerology

leaves me feeling bleak.

At this rate
I will find my true love
only if
he's compatible
with my sign
with my number
or I happen to pick the right cookie.

I'm sick and tired
of obsessing over that.
Those lies and deceit
are making me fat.

It seems
the only guys
who like me
have creepy peepers
not to mention are
stage five clingers.

Why don't I attract
a nice handsome
nerdy type,
who loves me
as much as
Jesus.

If he likes me, great.
Over this, I will worry no more.
He will only win
my heart

By seeking the Lord.

Until next time, I hope you all have a BLESSED Valentine's Day filled with love that lasts the rest of the year and on through the rest of your life.♥

Love Times Infinity,
Chelsea
xoxo
God Bless!
