As Summer comes to a close: Part One

Florida born and raised but I've got Jersey in my veins... This summer besides school, driving, tanning, and cooking, I've had many epic adventures with my family. Like for instance, we all went to Clearwater Beach together as a family. Her's some visuals for your ever-so-curious eye:

And according to my friend Lily who is Mexican, I'm tanner than a Mexican:

Anywho, this blog post isn't about an EPIC adventure. It's about the EPIC movies I've watched so far this summer.

1. Conviction

This movie about a brother and sister who grow up inseparable, and later in life the brother is wrongly accused for a murder he did not commit. The sister goes to school to become a lawyer just to prove her brother innocent. This movie is based on a true story, and was an extraordinary film.

2. Dogs Decoded: A Nova Documentary

This documentary really got me hooked on watching documentaries. I learned a lot about how dogs understand humans better than even humans understand their own species. That is because dogs have become domesticated, they are in tune to our facial expressions, language, body language, etc.

I can vouch that this is true because Geniveve knows me better than I know myself. :)

3. Bridesmaids

This is THE FUNNIEST movie I've seen in a long time. I'm definitely going to buy it when it comes on DVD. I mean, EVERY scene in the movie had something that made me pee my pants laughing. I seen this movie twice so far this summer. :)

4. Never Say Never

As mentioned in a previous blog, this movie made me a Belieber. lol.

It's such an inspiring story and I can see now that Justin Bieber is just living out God's purpose for him but still seeking to give God all the glory. That's how it should be.

5. Waiting For Forever

I rented this movie from Redbox because Rachel Bilson was in it and from catching up on the O.C. this summer, I've come to love her as an actress. Sure enough, she played excellent in this movie. I was surprised how sad this movie was but of course, like most romantic films, it had a happy ending.

6. Just Go With It

I absolutely love Adam Sandler's movies with the exception of Funny People. He is such a genuinely funny guy and you can tell by his roles that he is also a sensitive guy. This movie is no exception. Very funny and really cute with the romance aspect, too.

7. The Dilemma

This movie about a best friend who witnesses his best friend's wife cheating is a typical Vince Vaughn role. It was slow, and somewhat boring. For most of the movie, I thought it was a Ben Stiller movie because it lacked comedy but overall, it was a decent movie that portrayed what true friendship looks like.

8. From Prada to Nada

Not only did I connect to this movie personally because of the love interest that pursues Camilla Belle's character, but I also thought it was a very good movie. It kept my interest and Alexa Vega, Wilmer Valderama, and Camilla Belle were fantastic in it. Definitely going to buy it on DVD soon.

9. Green Lantern

I wasn't surprised that Ryan Reynolds was cast as the lead for this movie. He's talented and good-looking. I was surprised how good this movie was because I typically don't like action movies but I liked this one.

10. Bad Teacher

This movie should get a title change and be called, "Bad Movie." The previews made it seem funnier than it was. Honestly, I thought Bridesmaids bitch-slapped this movie in the face in terms of funny.

11. I Am Number Four

This movie was AWE-SOME. I absolutely loved it and as I said earlier, I don't like action movies typically.

12. Me and Orson Welles

I'm a huge Zac Efron fan. I could watch this guy act for days. He's so good at it. This movie was no exception. It only makes me more stoked for Zac Efron to star in the adaption of Nicholas Sparks' novel, "The Lucky One."

I'm sure before the summer ends I will watch more movies so I will keep you updated...

Until next time, word of advice: love someone despite what others say about u and that person. 9 times out of 10, they can't see what God can see♥

Life is a Bitch er I mean, a BEACH♥

Florida born and raised but I've got Jersey in my veins...

This past Friday, my family and I went to the beach. Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, FL to be exact.

We got all settled and took out our lunch. Let me let you in on a secret: Never eat on the beach. The birds aka the rats with wings will swarm you like bees to nectar. It isn't fun or relaxing in the slightest.

Nevertheless, here's my mom and I before we were swarmed.

Secondly, the wind will in fact blow your hair around like you're in one of those hurricane simulators, and leave it lifeless, salty, and dead. Ew.

Lastly, never sit in an environmentally sensitive area. You might get a misdemeanor. A mother who kills her two year old daughter can roam the country in freedom but my mom and I get in trouble for sitting on a dune during high tide. Gotta love the justice system today. <----Oh, and see that guy on the ATV, he has a small penis. Don't feel sorry for him.

Nevertheless, I've decided beaches are overrated and I like artificially tanning at a tanning salon much more, and if I want to go outdoors, I'll lay by my pool.

On a happier note, my dad turned 30 for the 21st year in a row. (Do the math). Here's some happier visuals:

And another one starring Lil' Boo(Geniveve):

I turn twenty in two weeks this Thursday. Hard to believe even to me but life just goes a lot quicker as you get older, you know because time flies when you're having fun.

This year for my birthday beside getting my driver's license and gift cards for clothing, this is what I want for my birthday and every day for the rest of my life.

1. Peace in Christ for the whole world.
2. For my books not only to minister to people but for them to inspire millions.
3. For my family to find peace and prosperity in THE BLESSING.
4. For my friends to find joy in Christ and find God's path for their life that leads to wealth, success, prosperity, and peace.
5. For Ryan Sheckler to win the Do Something Award for athlete. Vote here: http://t.co/G5Bo7R3 until August 15. Please and thank you.
6. For complete healing for my girl Geniveve's sight.

Until next time, Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Why Demi Lovato is my hero

Florida born and raised but I've got Jersey in my veins... As most of you know, I consider myself many things. First and foremost, I consider myself a Jesus Freak because there is and never will be anyone on Earth who can do what he already did for the world. Secondly, I consider myself a Sheckledork. From previous posts you can see, I follow Ryan Sheckler and his career because he's amazing at what he does on a skateboard but it's what he does off a skateboard with his charity the Sheckler Foundation that is equally amazing. Plus, I've known Ryan personally for almost six years now so that is another reason I consider myself a Sheckledork. Recently, I became a Belieber. Never Say Never converted me over to the FEVER, and I'm never turning back.

One thing I've never let everyone know is that I've always been a Lovatic. No, my sister-like connection didn't start with Demi Lovato's Barney and Friends episodes. In fact it all started on August 26, 2007. I was watching Disney Channel because my new fave Disney short was about to air, As The Bell Rings. Demi appeared in the first season of the show playing Charlotte, Danny's love interest. On this particular episode entitled Talent Show, Demi sang her own song, "Shadow" What struck me about her was not only that she was a talented actress but also that her voice was so powerful and Demi was only 13 or 14 when that show was filmed. She reminded me of a young Kelly Clarkson. From that day forward, I saw great things ahead for this rising star.

Sure enough, Demi went from there to star beside the Jonas Brothers in the Disney Channel original movie, Camp Rock. Shortly thereafter, she recorded her first studio album, Don't Forget, that she co-wrote with The Jonas Brothers. From there, she went on tour with the Jonas Brothers and was their opening act on the Burning Up Tour. She got her own show on Disney called Sonny With A Chance, and released another studio album, Here We Go Again, as well as starring in the second Camp Rock film.

Although, she was swept up into a wave of success, Demi was still haunted from bullying from childhood. She had trouble accepting her own body image because of it, and checked herself into rehab on November 1, 2010. Normally, I don't look up to celebrities who check into rehab of any kind but I have to admit, I admire Demi for going to rehab because it takes incredible courage and strength to admit defeat and ask for help beyond your own strength, and in checking herself in, Demi did just that.

Now out of rehab, 18 year old Demi still inspires millions out there becoming the new face for the Love Is Louder campaign. She is now showing girls facing bullying, eating disorders, or low self-esteem it is ok NOT to be perfect in a world of photoshopped pictures, and flaws overshadowed by glitz and glamour.

Her new single for her yet unreleased third studio album, Skyscraper came out this past Tuesday June 12, and within 12 hours was already number one on Itunes. The song is super inspiring and the emotion in Demi's voice just sounds so pure, and proves that Lovato is back and here to stay!

The music video for Skyscraper is pure genius portraying Lovato walking through her journey to self-acceptance, and will bring any person who watches it who has dealt with self-acceptance issues to tears.

It is so inspiring and you can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_8ydghbGSg&feature=channel_video_title

All in all, I will always admire Demi because although she has fame and lots of success, she still acts like she's just a normal girl from Texas living the dream, who isn't afraid to admit to the world that she's not perfect. My ultimate goal in life is to meet her.

Until next time, love is louder than the pressure to be perfect♥

Operating in Faith in a world of Feelings♥

Florida born and raised but I've got Jersey in my veins...Today, I was hit with a realization.

This world operates in feelings. It's all about how we feel.

For example, "I feel something for you." "I don't want to because I don't feel like it." "My prayers don't get answered because I don't feel God hears me." Really? How do you feel that someone hears you? That makes A LOT of sense.

If you're a born again, spirit-filled, Bible-believing Christian, you MUST cast down your feelings and operate in FAITH consistently.

I can tell you it's going to be tough. That means if someone does something mean to you you must forgive them right then and there instead of letting the offense of your flesh react to what they said or did to you.

Even in love, if someone does something without considering "your feelings," love them anyway. Now in saying that, some of you may wonder about cases of domestic violence. That's different. You need to get out of there regardless of your situation because those are the ways that lead to death and Jesus already redeemed you from the ways of death so follow his guidance and he will provide you a safe haven.

Remember what Jesus said on the cross: "Forgive them Father. For they know not what they do." That's the model of how you should react no matter WHAT. It's hard but try it. Next time someone does something to you or says something to you that would be considered harsh towards "your flesh" or maybe they don't do something you want them to, and it upsets you, pause right there where you are, and say, "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do."

After that, pray this: Father, I forgive them for that. I love them and refuse to be moved by their hurtful action( or comment, or lack of action, etc.) Thank you for giving me peace on this matter. I love you and live to serve you. Amen♥

Remember, in consistency lies the power. If you practice it once, eventually you will fall into habit with this way of operation.

People may think you're crazy because they are of the world but you are the son or daughter of the Prince of Peace so obviously you will be lifted to a higher more joyful place.

Maybe seeing you all joyful even after they act or say or don't act a certain way, they will wonder what you got that they don't and in the end will find Christ.

Until next time, feelings deceive; faith believes♥
