DEMI: The Review♥

Happiness is a form of courage...Remember when I said I was going to blog about more everyday things? This is me doing that.

Before I get to the review, please let me tell you a little about my life right now. Since May 20, 2013, I've been off my heart medicine and feel great. Now I just take twenty five micrograms of Levathyroxine. I've also figured out that I cannot process dairy like I used to and have started drinking and using Lactaid for everything. The only thing that doesn't bother me is cheese. Which I happen to enjoy a lot so I'm not complaining. Lactaid brand even makes Fast Act supplements that carry the enzyme that helps break down dairy in your intestines so I'll have to go get me some of those and then go fill my face with a huge ice cream sundae. Yes, it's unfortunate that I have these problems at such a young age but what I'm most grateful for is being alive♥

Also, my novel is writing so beautifully. I'm really enjoying this creative nonfiction experience. I can't wait to share it with you all!

Lastly, I've been having fun this summer. Where's the fun in all work, no play, right?

I went to the beach with my family:
Last Friday, I had a picnic in the park with my two best friends. We ate salad wraps, almond crackers, and cheese sticks complete with ice tea. Then for dessert, we ate cherry pie bars. Sarah is an amazing cook. I think I'll keep her. lol.
I love both her and Peggy so much. They always have me laughing and enjoying life when I'm with them. That's what friendship is all about.♥

DEMI: The Review

This is Demi's most personal album yet. She wrote most of the songs on it.

1. Heart Attack
written by: Mitch Allan, Jason Evigan, Sean Douglas, Nikki Williams, Aaron Phillips and Demi Lovato

This was the first single off the album and really intrigued a lot of people to purchase the album. Musically, there is more of a house music feel to this pop track but Demi's voice still adds the pop rock signature known of her music. It tells the story of a girl not wanting to fall in love because of past hurts. Ultimately, a lot of people can relate to this track. The music video for this song is also very poetic.

2. Made In the USA
written by: Jonas Jeberg, Jason Evigan, Corey Chorus,Blair Perkins, and Demi Lovato

This track I fell in love with right away because of the pop feel to this track. It's catchy and patriotic. It tells the story of two people that are proud their love was "made in the usa."
Demi's voice sounds amazing on this track as well.

3. Without the Love
Written by: Matt Squire, Roy Battle, Freddy Wexler, and Demi Lovato

This track is another pop anthem with a musicality that I enjoyed. It tells a story of a girl whose lover sings her love songs but doesn't actually love her. Quite tragic but I related it back to Demi's relationship with Joe Jonas. I don't know if she wrote it based off him but some lyrical words made me think of him. Ultimately, what good is a love song without the love?

4.Neon Lights
Written by: Mario Marchetti, Tiffany Vartanyan, Ryan Tedder, Noel Zancanella, and Demi Lovato

Obviously, with the writing chops of Ryan Tedder(One Republic) on this track, it's bound to sound like a hit. This track, like heart attack, has a trance/house music feel to it. Demi's voice is synthesized on this track but she still sounds amazing. This track is one of my favorites.

5. Two Pieces
Written by Livvi Franc, Mitch Allan and Jason Evigan

This track enticed me right away because Demi sings this so purely, I at first thought she wrote it. Even though she didn't write it, it's a lyrically strong song and no one except either Demi or Kelly Clarkson could have sang this track. I love the musicality of the track making it sound a bit toy-like because it  tells the story of a boy and a girl who are just looking for a friend to help them find their way back home. This track is one of my favorites. The first week I listened to the album I woke up every morning with this song stuck in my head.

6.Nightingale
Written by:Anne Preven, Matt Radosevich, Felicia Barton, and Demi Lovato

This track is based off of a friend that passed away when Demi was 13, and Demi still sometimes can feel his presence with her in a room. She considers him her nightingale. Lyrically, I love the line that goes: I never see the forest for the trees/ I could really use your melody/ baby, I'm a little blind/ I think it's time/ for you to find me. "
I also like the musicality of the track that almost has an enchanting vibe. Demi's voice shines on this track. This is one of my favorites.

7.In Case
Written by: Emanuel Kiriakou and Priscilla Renea

This is a simple piano and vocal track sung by Demi which are ultimately my favorites because she always sounds amazing on them. This is a deep emotional track about waiting for your one true love to come back and keep everything they left behind in case "they want to come home." I relate to this track personally because I believe we all hope our first loves comes back because there is nothing like the first time.

8. Really Don't Care ft. Cher Lloyd
Written by: Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, Savan Kotecha, Demi Lovato, and Cher Lloyd

This is one of my top favorites because it's the ultimate break up song. It's dancy and fun but the singer is really serious that she really doesn't care about what her ex does because she's having way too much fun.

9. Fire Starter
Written by: Jarrad "Jaz" Rogers, Lindy Robbins, and Julia Michaels

This is a really catchy track but Demi chose this track for the opening line:
There's an 'S' under my clothes/ on my chest where nobody else can see.

Ultimately, I like this track because it's a girl-power anthem. Instead of a male superhero, it teaches girls to be their own superhero and I love and support that message.

10. Something That We're Not
Written by: Demi Lovato, Andrew Goldstein, Emanuel Kiriakou, and Savan Kotecha

I like this track because of the pop musicality and the lyrics being so dancy when the singer is telling the boy that is way too into her that he must think they are something that they're not. I believe Demi wrote it based off personal experience because she's the first name listed as a writer. This is one of my favorites.

11. Never Been Hurt
Written by: Ali Tamposi, Jason Evigan, Jordan Johnson, Marcus Lomax, Stefan Johnson, and Demi Lovato

I like this track because it is the continuation of her title track off her last album Unbroken. It is another rocker track saying that the singer is going to love like she's "never been hurt."

12. Shouldn't Come Back
Written by: Rami Yacoub, Carl Falk, Savan Kotecha and Demi Lovato

This track sounds like a continuation to For The Love of a Daughter. It is a final plea to Demi's father telling him he shouldn't come back. Anyone can relate to this track because we all have someone that has left our lives or at least no longer exists in the every day of it that we believe should not come back because they caused more harm than good to us.

13. Warrior
Written by: Demi Lovato, Andrew Goldstein, Emanuel Kiriakou and Lindy Robbins

This is the sequel to Skyscraper and is a powerful, emotional track. You can tell Demi wrote most of it herself because it tells her story very vividly and because of what she went through, she says, "Now I'm a warrior." I like this track a lot because it can be used as an anti-bullying anthem. This is my number one favorite.

If you buy the Target version of the album, you get a bonus track.

14. I Hate You, Don't Leave Me
Written by: Demi Lovato, E. Kidd Bogart, Andrew Goldstein, and Emanuel Kiriakou

This is a very personal track between listener and artist because Demi sings next to a background track of piano and guitar. It's beautiful and she sounds so pure on it. I love it because it's very relatable because it's about a girl that has been abandoned many times and is afraid of this new person she feels and cares deeply for because she fears they will leave her when they say they love her.Buy the Target version today!

Overall, I think it is one of Demi's best and I recommend you buy a copy for you and a friend.
