Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time

Florida born and raised but I've got Jersey in my veins...Ahhh, Christmas. My favorite time of year. The time of year when you take the time to cherish and value all that the year has given you and the people closest to you.

My wonderful Christmas time started on the Saturday after school let out. My parents let us have a Christmas party and we got to each invite friends to the party. I invited my besties Sarah and Peggy. Yet, only Sarah could come.
Then, we popped the cork on the crunk juice and the party was officially started. :D

After the party, I finished my Global perspective class and spent the rest of my week editing my manuscript. I just know this is going to be a bestseller. :D
Oh and in case you care, I got an A in my Global class! :D I've overcome my pattern of failing history. :)

To enjoy each other's company, we ventured off to the international mall.
We shopped till we dropped an appetite and then devoured lunch at TooJay's deli. Then, things got crazy.
Exhibit B:
We See No Evil Speak No Evil and Hear No Evil:
And again but first we did the mirror pose:
Then, we got it right. :)
While at the mall, I had to deal with a rather sharply worded text. I would like to thank my mom, my sisters, Geniveve Rosalynn♥, Kritti Batra, Sarah Grina, Peggy Williams, Vasty Souffrant, Daniel Roman, and Cory Los Schumacher for showing me the love I thought I lost.
On the way home, we got lattes at Dunkin and eggnog shakes at Checkers. Ah-mazing!

We had a great day overall. I ended mine by listening to Lil Wayne's Gonorrhea and watching him with Eminem on SNL. Can't wait until he's my brother in law. ;-)

Until next time, give the gift of love this Christmas and my family and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed 2011♥

Winter Formal '10

Florida born and raised but I've got Jersey in my veins... was ah-mazing!

Let me explain.

We got all dressed up.
Then boarded a bus.
Ate our hearts out.
Then found Nemo!

And saw sharks.

And lots of fishies.

Then, of course after drinking the drugged Starbucks coffee: we shared laughs♥

Danced♥ and I personally dropped it low. ;-)

Not to mention, we bonded♥

By the end of the night, we were all smiles. :D :D :D

Exhibit B:

Don't you wish you were our date? ;)
All in all, it was so much more fun to go with just me and my girls. Not having a date is hella fun!
Oh yeah and in case you were wondering, we SHUT IT DOWN because we all looked fiercely sexy. :)

Until next time, dance like no one is watching!

I'm thankful for Thanksgiving

Florida born and raised but I've got Jersey in my veins...

Thanksgiving is seen as a time to pig out. Well, that we did.

Here's what the feast looks like at my house:

Delish, right?

Yet, thanksgiving is about more than food. It's about giving thanks for all you have been blessed with.
This year I was thankful:
For the BLESSING♥
My health♥
My friend's victory over cancer♥
My family♥
My best friend Geniveve Rosalynn♥
My friends♥
My book sales increasing♥
My article in the Lion's pride♥
An A in History♥

Thanksgiving is also about spending time with the people you neglect most of the other regular days of the year: your loved ones♥
My best friend Geniveve♥
I try not to ever neglect her because she loves me For ME unconditionally without me ever having to ask♥
My family; although they have the ability to drive me up the wall most of the time, they mean the world to me and I remember there are people out there in the world without a family so I'm absolutely thankful for mine♥
So yesterday was Black Friday. We experienced it for the first time and it took everything we had. haha.
Then, because we are mad, we decided to go to Busch Gardens♥
Here's us there minus Dad.

Today, we went to the movies and saw both Love and Other Drugs and Burlesque♥ Both were great movies!

Until next time, Be thankful♥ Colossians 1:12, Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints(God's holy people)in the Light♥

Be a Giver;

Florida born and raised but I've got Jersey in my veins...Save the economy.

It really is simple. I know giving seems like the last great idea in this economy but it really is the only answer.

Deuteronomy 8:18- But you shall earnestly remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

The secret to getting wealth by God's kingdom is in this verse right here: Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it♥-Malachi 3:10, Amplified Bible.

If you don't understand what that verse is saying, let me simplify it for you.
If you give 10% of your monthly income and sow it into a ministry or the church, having faith that God will give it back to you, God will give it back to you thirty, sixty, one hundredfold. That verse also says that he will bless you so much that there will not be room for all the wealth and blessing God will give you in return for your act of faith.

I personally am a partner with Kenneth Copeland Ministries. I sow into their ministry. I also then donate to the Sheckler Foundation, March of Dimes, St. Jude's Research Hospital, Special Olympics, or the American Cancer Society.

I really would like to see each and everyone of my friends and readers be ultimately blessed and prosper no matter what the economy looks like according to Psalm 112. Underneath my about me, you can see a list of the charities I donate to. Please feel free to donate too.

As a final thought, I would like to pray over anyone reading this blog: "Lord, according to what your word says in Galatians 6:6, I pray that you reveal to them where they are intended to sow a seed of Blessing toward your children that are in need of a breakthrough. Whether that breakthrough may be in the area of healing, finances, bondage, addiction or lusts of the flesh. May their seed reap one hundredfold of their harvest and your children become Blessed all over the world. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."

It's a Writer's World After All

My life has become a realistic fiction novel...This blog is for all those writers out there who have been told they aren't good enough or haven't yet been recognized for their talent. Go get'em! :)

So, last Friday I gave my books to Saint Leo's library in order for them to be checked out and read. Yesterday was a rough day for me. My donating my books became the mockery of the library. Let me explain.

Ok, I was told by the catalog librarian that the director of the library found them to be not academic enough for the library. Yet, they have Harry Potter on the shelves and Stephen King. *note sarcasm that follows* Right. That was the reason.

So, now my books are being put in an archive collection for student's of Saint Leo who have published works or books. They may never be looked at or read. I hope you just shed a tear especially all my fellow writers out there. That is the worst thing a writer can ever be told that their work may never be read.

The reason I became a writer is because I'm a soft spoken girl who has a lot to say about a lot of things and have a grace to write words to heal, inspire, and motivate and move people. My words are not meant to be written and collect dust.

I also became a writer because growing up I found more and more young people don't like to read. That's so sad to me because when I was in elementary school and on days when I felt I had no friends, the characters in my books became my friends. Yeah, I know that sounds like I'm some pathetic antisocial loser but that's far from what I am. ;-)

Books are the key to giving children imaginations and inspiring them that they can believe in anything and it can be possible. Dreams do come true. Maybe not overnight but they slowly come to manifestation if you have faith.

Without writers the world would probably be a boring place.

Southpark would not be possible without the writers who write the plot line and dialog for the episodes. Basically any show you watch would not be possible without writers. Yes, even reality shows need writers. Sometimes scenes need to be narrated and those narrations have to be simple and to the point. You can thank a writer for all those narrated voiceovers Ryan Sheckler did throughout his show, Life of Ryan.

The same goes for movies. Every movie has a script that is given to all involved in it. Either a screen WRITER takes a novel and adapts it into a movie or someone comes up with an idea for a movie and writes the entire thing. Now, no movie these days would be complete without the editors as well as the special effect people but most of those people are directed by what the script tells them to do.

Today, more and more singers are expected to be singer/songwriters but some stars still have their songs written for them. Celine Dion for instance is an amazing vocalist but all of her songs were written by other people. If those writers didn't exist, Celine Dion would not exist in the music industry.

So, I would like you right now to go open a book, watch a movie, or watch a tv show or in the rare case that you feel crazy inspired try doing all three one right after the other, and when you're done, stand up and thank and applaud all the writers.

Oh and before I leave you with a final thought let me say that this blog is not me giving up writing. No way. I've come this far with God's help. There's no reason to just throw it all away. Plus, the unreleased third novel I recently finished is a for sure best seller. Just ask the few people I let read it if they liked it. :) So, no worries, loves. Chelsea DeVries is here to stay♥

Until next time, remember it's a writer's world after all. :)

Love is Patient

My life has become a realistic fiction novel...Remember last week's blog? It was all I like this guy...I loved this guy...I don't think I love him anymore.

Well, yeah. About that. Sorry, if I confused you.

I realized this week that I made the guy I like my life these past two weeks. If I'm not talking about him, then I'm writing about him or I'm hanging out with him.

Yeah, forget that noise. Chellyz back, baby, and she's not going anywhere ever again.

I have to remember what God defines love as: Love is patient. (1 Cor. 13:4-8) Read that. It will change your life over and over again. Every time I read it, it awakens me to realize that I've let my head(logic) overrule my heart(my spirit) and I've been making a mess of things. I wrote a letter to the guy I loved for five years then recently told him I just want to be friends. All because of this guy who I liked or because logic was telling me he was the smarter choice.

I've started reading this book The Truth About Guys by Chad Eastham and it is ah-mazing. I'm almost done with it and I just got it yesterday. It's a great companion book to the Bible. :)

One thing I've learned from it is that your heart should be so wrapped up in God that a guy has to ask for directions to find it. :D

Be a diamond ladies and never, never, ever let go of YOU to please him, for the LIFE of you, do NOT do it.

So, I'm taking love one day at a time and letting God keep my heart until the right guy comes along who fully values it for its worth.

Until next time remember: "Do not let someone become your priority when you are just their option."
